Pat originally started serving the Sorgho community in 1985. He moved away and came back to the community in 1998. He has progressed through the ranks and became Fire Chief in 2007. He was selected as Firefighter of the Year in 1999. Pat retired August 1, 2011 after a 20 year career with the Henderson Fire Department and a 13 year career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Daviess County Sheriff's Office. Pat was appointed to the Governor's Fire Commission in 2007 and served until 2011. He was employed by the Kentucky Fire Commission as the Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment and Retention Program Coordinator until he was recently promoted to Director of State Fire Rescue training for the Kentucky Fire Commission. Pat has over 7,219 hours of training/instructor hours combined. Pat holds certifications as a Career Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Haz-Mat Technician, Level I and II Fire Service Instructor, Rope Rescue/Confined Space Technician, IFSAC Firefighter I and II, IFSAC Haz-Mat Awareness and Operations, Commonwealth of Kentucky Peace Officer, DOCJT Telecommunicator, and NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800b. He has attended several out-of-state advanced training courses in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Alabama, and at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD. Pat was appointed by the Governor to the Kentucky Fire Commission in 2007. He has been the Treasurer for the Green River Firefighters Association since 1995. He is a member of the Kentucky Firefighters Association, Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs, and the National Fire Academy Alumni Association and is the Liaison for the Green River Honor Guard. Pat is currently the Training Coordinator for The Fire Academy of Kentucky.
