Randy Blandford

Randy currently serves as Assistant Chief with the department with more than 25 years of experience in the fire service. He first began his career in 1984 after enlisting into the United States Navy. While serving, Randy attended several naval firefighting schools that included NTTC Fleet Training Center, San Diego, CA; NTTC Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA; and NTTC Long Beach Naval Station, Long Beach, CA; where he earned certifications in Advanced Shipboard Firefighting, Aviation Firefighting and Rescue, Gas Free Engineering, Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Decontamination, and Shipboard Damage Control. Randy was stationed aboard the USS Missouri BB-63 and assigned to the Repair Division which spearheaded the firefighting efforts ship-wide. He served as on-scene leader with the In-Port Fire Party, the At-Sea Flying Squad, and the Aircraft Crash and Rescue Team. Randy began serving the Sorgho community in 1991 and over the years he has steadily progressed thru the ranks to his current position. Randy was selected Firefighter of The Year in 1998 and 2007 and has more than 4288 training hours. Randy is employed at nearby Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Owensboro Mill, as an operations technician and also serves as Assistant Chief with their fire brigade.

Charlie Rafferty

Charlie started serving the Sorgho community in 1996 as a firefighter. After progressing through the ranks, Charlie now holds the rank of Assistant Chief. In 2002, he was elected firefighter of the year. Charlie also serves as a Lieutenant with the Daviess County Fire Department. Charlie has over 8145 training hours and has over 1,460 instructor hours.  Charlie holds credentials as a career firefighter, Haz-Mat Technician., Emergency Medical Technician., WMD Radiological/Nuclear Awareness Train-the-Trainer, WMD Terrorist Bombing Train-The-Trainer, ISFAC Firefighter Level I and II, ISFAC Evaluator, Level I and II, ISFAC Haz-Mat Awareness, ISFAC Haz-Mat Operations, Level I and II Fire Service Instructor, AHA CPR Instructor and is also an Instructor for KCTCS State Fire Rescue Area 3. Charlie is a founding member, and commander of the Green River Honor Guard.

Tyler Free

Tyler started serving the Sorgho community in 2003 as a firefighter. Tyler has over 2123 training hours and also serves as an EMT. Tyler holds the position of Assistant Chief.  He was elected firefighter of the year in 2005, 2013 and 2015. He has received the outstanding service award in 2005, 2010, 2011, 2012, & 2013. Tyler also serves the community as a Deputy Sheriff, holding the rank of sergeant, with the Daviess County Sheriff's Office.

Andy Offerman

Andy started serving the Sorgho Community in 2003. Andy has progressed through the ranks and now serves as captain.  Andy received the Outstanding Service award in 2003, 2010, 2011, 2012. and in 2013.  Andy has over 2101 training hours.

Dustin Staves

Dustin started serving the Sorgho community in 2005. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2012, and captain in 2016. Dustin has over 1231 training hours and holds certifications as a Career Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. He is certified by the Kentucky Emergency Management Agency in Basic Search and Rescue (BSAR), and has acquired levels 100, 200, ,300, 400, 700, and 800 in the National Incident Management System. Dustin has attended many special-topic classes throughout his career, including courses taught by the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, National Fire Academy, and numerous fire departments throughout the nation. Dustin graduated from the Public Safety Dispatch Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training. He is also a founding member of the Green River Firefighter Association's Honor Guard, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College. Dustin has received the Outstanding Service Award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2019; as well as a Unit Citation for Life Saving award in 2015. Dustin also received the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2016. Dustin is employed full-time with the Kentucky Fire Commission and is the Field Office Coordinator for the National Responder Preparedness Center.

Jared Peacock

Jared Peacock joined ASFD in 2015 and has over 3922 hours of training. Jared is an EMT and is employed full-time by the Owensboro Fire Department. Jared also serves as an instructor.

Bill Sturges

Lieutenant / EMT-A   #476

 

Bill joined ASFD in 2005. Bill is also an advanced EMT and works full-time with Yellow Ambulance. Bill previously served as an officer and continues to serve on responses and as an instructor. Bill was elected Firefighter of the year in 2008. Bill holds certificates for ISFAC Firefighter I and II, ISFAC Haz-Mat Operations and he is also a Fire Instructor I. Bill has over 2297 hours of training.

Carl Shock

Carl joined ASFD in 2015 and also serves as an EMT. He received the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2017 and 2019, and Outstanding Service Awards in 2018 and 2019. Carl is the equipment officer for ASFD. Carl has over 719 training hours.

Matt Kamuf

Matt started serving the Sorgho community in 2004 as a firefighter and was promoted to lieutenant in 2021. Matt has been an EMT since 2009, and is employed full-time with AMR ambulance service. Matt has over 9 years of experience working for local EMS. Matt received the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2009 and 2010, and received Outstanding Service Awards for 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019. In 2015 Matt received a ASFD Unit Citation for Life Saving Award.  Matt serves as the medical officer for ASFD. Matt has over 2335 hours of training.

Lucas Bullis

Lucas Bullis joined ASFD in 2017 and earned his EMR in 2021. Lucas has over 768 hours of training, and also serves on the Swedish Match Emergency Response Team as an industrial firefighter, where he is employed full-time. Lucas was promoted to Lieutenant in 2021.
