The ASFD Junior Firefighter Program is sanctioned and regulated by the Kentucky Fire Commission. To participate, Junior Firefighters must have permission from their parent or guardian, must be enrolled in school (or have graduated), and must maintain an average grade of C or better. Junior Firefighters will be allowed to participate in training under strict guidelines and supervision. Junior Firefighters are not emergency responders. This program is meant to educate and train those interested in becoming a firefighter upon reaching the age of 18. This is an excellent opportunity for those who would like to go on to a career as a firefighter, and for those interested in serving their community.
